Well it's been discovered since Lydia started walking that she loves to play in dirt. If we are outside that's where she heads... to the dirt. So.... while at a recent yard sale I found a $7 sandbox (originally $50) and bought some sand for $6! Now Lydia has a new outdoor toy that she loves! The pictures prove it! Tonight when I took her out, I couldn't even keep her out of it long enough to put the lid on it. She kept crawling back in while I turned to get the big lid. It was quite humorous!

Improving the fire pit
After visiting some great fire pits recently, Chad decided that ours needed to be revamped. He got to work early this morning and accomplished a lot! All the stones were gathered from the creek. He is so careful but so creative. It looks wonderful! Lydia had fun helping as well! Thanks Chad! Now, all that is missing is our friends and family. If anyone wants to relax by the fire and eat some s'mores and camp pies, come on over! We love to have company!

Summer playdates are the best
A new crib!
Lydia's first crib was recalled unfortunately. Which left up with no crib and in a hurry to get a new one. After a lot of research on Daddy's part a few trips to various stores, we found a beautiful crib! Lydia has been in it for a week now and really seems to like. So much so that she likes taking bites out of it! She never bit the old crib once, this one we had up for less than 24 hours and we noticed bit marks! Silly Lydia!
Lydia's Dedication
another new development...
Lydia is starting to do all kinds of things by herself. One of her very favorite things to do is feed herself. Even though it is messy, it is so sweet watching her try to do it herself. Our baby girl is growing up so quickly! The bottle is officially gone as well. It was slow going but she seems to be happy with her sippy cup now! Finally!
Playing in the sprinklers
Riding in style
One chilly, summer evening, we decided to go for a walk. Lydia was a cool little dudette enjoying the scenery!
Car Shopping
Playing Piano with Daddy
One summer morning I came out into the living room to find Daddy and Lydia playing the piano! It was so cute! It made me wonder what the future might hold for this musical family?!.
Happy 4th of July!

Heading to Kilby Cream
Lydia's Grandpa and Grandma Young had a special outing planned for us on our last night of visiting. They took the three of us to a great ice cream place called Kilby Cream. Lydia loved playing on the unique playground, eating the ice cream and meeting the farm animals. It was a really neat place and makes me wish we could own something like this!
Plumpton Park
On Monday, June 29th Lydia went on her first outing with Uncle Colin and Catharine. We all decided to take a trip to Plumpton Park Zoo in Maryland. Lydia was very interested in watching and petting the animals. Afterwards, Uncle Colin took us on a tour of the Univ. of Delaware campus where he is an alumni and we went to lunch at a snazzy restaurant called Klondike Kate's. It was a great day to catch up with family members and enjoy the beautiful, summer weather!
